La Sombra De Tony Guerrero

THE WINDY CITY BOYZ

In the early 70’s at age 13, Tony Guerrero began performing music for audiences. In time he began showcasing his talent throughout the Midwest.

In 1983, La Sombra de Tony Guerrero recorded their first full length album, which was released a year later in 1984; the record achieved gold and platinum sales with songs such as “Mi Guerita Coca-Cola” and “Let’s Boogie Tonight”. Throughout the coming years, Tony saw continued success; being nominated for, and winning multiple Tejano Music Awards.

In the early 90’s, La Sombra decided to change record labels. The first record they recorded with their new label, “Porque Te Quiero“, went on to receive a grammy nomination. Taking their catalogue of popular jams on the road, Tony Guerrero and La Sombra toured all over the United States and Latin America for years to come, making appearances on several popular Hispanic TV programs such as The Johnny Canales. Tony Guerrero remains in the music industry to this day, performing on stages, creating new Sombra music, and producing and recording for promising up and coming acts.

Guerrero was recently inducted into the Tejano Hall of fame for his commemorative contribution to the genre and dedication to the culture. In 1996, Tony Guerrero had a son, Marco Guerrero. Today, Tony and Marco are working together to enforce La Sombra’s legacy.
